Shimla, May 26
The government is ensuring strict enforcement of the provision of 70 per cent jobs to Himachalis in all industrial units coming up in the state.
This was stated by Ravinder Ravi, Irrigation and Public Health Minister, here today while presiding over a meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on the implementation of the BJP election manifesto.
“After assuming power, the party adopted the election manifesto as its policy document and fulfilled all promises which have brought benefit to various sections of society,” he said.
He said it was due to the efforts of the BJP that the state had got about Rs 1,100 crore as royalty from hydropower projects in 2010-11, as compared to Rs 750 crore in 2007.
He said Himachal was marching towards becoming a “Power State” and so far 6728 MW hydropower capacity had been harnessed while 21,000 MW more hydropower was expected to be exploited during this year. Health Minister Rajiv Bindal also attended the meeting.
