Ashish Verma from Him Academy Public School, Hamirpur, topped the 10 plus 2 science results that were declared here this evening by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE). Ashish got 476 marks out of 500.
He was closely followed by Tenzin Nyima from Kullu Valley School, Ramshila, who came second scoring 475 and Pankaj Chaudhary from DAV Senior Secondary School, Una, who took the third position scoring 474 marks.
Interestingly all the three toppers were from private schools. The private schools dominated the toppers list taking nine out of top 10 positions.
The other toppers include Neha Baradwaj 4th (472), Ashish Ranot 5th (470), Astha Kapil 6th (469) all from Him Academy Public School, Hamirpur.
Rishab Sood from Government Senior Secondary School, Subathu, Deepak Raina from Gurukul Senior Secondary School, Dharamsala, and Shubam Soni from Minerva Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin, were jointly placed 7th scoring 468 marks.
Ankush Sood from DAV Senior Secondary School, Bharoli, and Rahul Sharma from Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Lal Pani, were jointly placed 8th (465) marks.
Priyanka Jaswal from Gokul Montessori Senior Secondary School, Sakshi from Government Senior Secondary School, Hamirpur, and Priyanka from Him Academy Public School were jointly 9th (464) marks.
Isha from Arunodaya Senior Secondary School, Mohal and Shivam Kumar from Minerva Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin, were jointly 10th (463) marks.
Chairman of the Board VC Farka said the total pass percentage in the result declared today remained at 66.99%. As many as 20,632 candidates had appeared for 10 plus 2 science examinations this year, out of whom 13,822 had passed and 2,916 had got compartment in one subject.
He said the student could apply for rechecking and re-evaluation of their answer sheets depositing a fee of Rs 150 and Rs 200, respectively, till May 27.
